What I Got For Christmas :)

Hey everyone,
I hope you all had an incredible Christmas! I had a lovely time and spent the day eating far too much food and playing board games with my family, a perfect day in my eyes :) I also got well and truly spoilt with gifts from my family friends, Luke’s family and of course my Fiance Luke.
Christmas in the Coulton household is always over the top, we spend far too much and as I am an only child I do get a lot of presents. In no way do I want this post to come across as bragging, because that is something I have never done and quite frankly, really dislike! I don’t upload pictures of piles of my presents on Instagram/Facebook and am only posting it on here as I know its something a lot of you do like to have a nosey at :) I think these posts are harmless and just give people ideas of things to pick up in the sale or things to look at in the future etc :)
So here’s what I got!
Edible Treats
Who can tell I might have a slight sweet tooth? My Mum and Dad got me a huge bag of retro sweets, which I absolutely love and always have. I also got plenty of chocolate treats to get through too! I’m pleased to say that I am making excellent progress! I also might be eating a Refresher bar as I type this..
In the way of haircare my Fiance got me some sleep-in rollers (wahoo!), a Macadamia No Tangle hair brush (very similar to the Tangle Teezer but I think I prefer this one), some Aussie mini shampoo and conditioners and also some Macadamia Oil shampoo. My Mum and Dad got me a Aussie shampoo and conditioner from the volume range and they also got me shine spray by Aussie too which I cannot wait to use!
In the way of body sprays I got all of these! I absolutely love all of them and love the mini ones as they are perfect for popping into your handbag. I accidently put a Batiste mini that I got for Christmas in with this lot instead of an Impulse one, I got a bit mixed up!
CDs & Books
In the way of CDs I got The Killers greatest hits (I absolutely love The Killers) then I got Bastille’s debut album which I am listening to right now and I really like! I got The Mortal Instruments book series (looks really good, I’ve read other books from the same author and really enjoyed them) and my Mum got me this amazing book called ‘Q & A a Day 5 Year Journal’ and you answer the same question on the same date every year for five years and see how much you change over the years. I absolutely love this book and cannot wait to start it. Lastly and definitely not least, I have my signed Frank Lampard books that my Mum paid for when we went to the book signing, they are now my dearest possessions! :)
Random Bits
I got lots of little notepads, pens, a pretty little owl purse, an electric toothbrush, two makeup bags one of which is a beautiful Paul and Joe filofax makeup bag, an owl phone holder, hand warmers and eye mask and a really sweet postcard that my wonderful Fiance got me that says ‘you are absolutely completely and utterly perfect’, aww :)
Jewellery & Keyrings
I got so much pretty jewellery this year! I got lots of little silver ankle bracelets, a pearl earrings, necklace and bracelet set, two pairs of earrings (one pair is beautiful little owls), and the most gorgeous Pandora necklace from Mum and Dad, I love it! Then I also got a Chelsea keyring and another gorgeous keyring, both from my Fiance Luke.
I got some lovely little candles, one of which is a beautiful Yankee Candle in a really sweet gingerbread house themed box, the scent is ‘Christmas Cookie’ and smells gorgeous! I’ve always wanted a Bath & Body Works candle and my Fiance got me this one called Marshmallow Fireside and it literally smells exactly like when you’re roasting marshmallows on a fire, its incredible! I also got a little Downton Abbey themed candle in a Downton Abbey gift set that Luke got me from M+S, its a lovely vanilla scent :) My favourite of the bunch was the ‘Little Hotties’ wax melts and burner from Bomb Cosmetics, the scents are so strong and last for ages. I am definitely going to pick up more scents – Luke got me; coconut, mango, tropical sands and passion fruit, but they have a huge choice and I am addicted, I have been using them every night! :)
I got so many gorgeous slippers! I have really bad circulation so my feet and hands are always freezing so slippers are a must pretty much year round for me. I got some lovely fleece lined slipper socks from John Lewis, some Ugg Scuffette slippers which are literally like walking on marshmallows, a beautiful pair of scottie dog ones from Radley and my absolute favourite pair, a huge pair of scottie dog ones from BHS! These are literally massive, they have tails, feet, huge heads complete with collars and big floppy ears! I can’t get enough of them, I just think they’re adorable :)
I got two beautiful bags! The first is one from Modalu (Pippa Middleton’s favourite handbags, she always wears the ‘Pippa’ style obviously!). I saw this in John Lewis months ago and fell in love and when it had 20% off and my friend was able to use their 20% staff discount on top of it, Luke kindly purchased it for me and put it by for Christmas. The leather is so soft and its such a gorgeous grey colour, completely in love! Luke also got me this gorgeous Ted Baker shopper bag from Bicester Village so it was pretty much half price!
Clothing Part One
I got a beautiful T-shirt from Hype Clothing, a spotty blouse from Asos, a Ralph Lauren T-shirt and a T-shirt from Asos that spells the word 'love' out of lots of birds. I absolutely love all of these :)
Clothing Part Two
I got a long sleeved thermal top from Jack Wills and it was an absolute bargain at £8 down from £46! A blouse from Asos that looks hideously creased and shapeless but it is very nice on and was also a bargain at £7 down from £25. I also got a gorgeous jumper from Asos complete with festive pattern and collar, a long sleeved Ralph Lauren top and a sweatshirt from Asos. So happy with everything :)
Clothing Part Three
My Mum and Dad got me this lovely fleece lined coat from H and M that I absolutely love and they also got me this huge dressing gown from M+S, its so long it touches the ground! So snuggly and warm, I've barely taken it off this whole festive period!
Clothing Part Four
If I am at home I will either be in tracksuit bottoms or PJs, I like to be comfy so I got a pair of Juicy Couture ones (my favourite) in cobalt blue and some black ones from H+M. My Fiance got me some really pretty nighties and some tights which I needed terribly! I also got a lovely lacey bra from H+M, its so pretty :)
I also got some lovely Jimmi Jam PJs, some other PJs from George, Asda and about 30 pairs of socks, I'm not even exaggerating!
Clothing Part Five
My Fiance Luke got me this gorgeous hat from New Look, I have no idea where I'll wear it but I absolutely love it. I cannot wait to get a chance to wear it, maybe with a nice skater dress in the summer :)
Cuddly Toys
My Fiance got me this sweetest scruffiest cuddly dog ever and he even has his own little scarf and passport, aww. He also got me the bunny, which is one of those microwavable teddys that you use to warm you up on cold winter nights. I think she is adorable in her little stripey jumper! My Mum and Dad got me a super cute fluffy owl which is also a microwavable teddy, so now I have two to use! :)
Trinket Boxes and Ornaments
I am addicted to collecting little cute things that I can put on every available surface in my room and my Fiance picked me up all of these gorgeous trinket boxes and ornamants. I absolutely love all of them and they're now decorating my bookcase :)
Skincare & Bodycare
In the way of skincare/bodycare I got a ridiculous amount of products! Luke got me two some amazing Downton Abbey themed products and a set of eight mini bubble baths from M+S. Then I can't remember who got me what but all are from friends/family and include Lush (Candy Mountain, Melting Snowman, Cosmetic Warrior and Snow Fairy (not pictured)), Clinique mini treats, Philosophy, Nivea, Dove, Baylis and Harding, Bomb Cosmetics etc. My bath is my favourite time of the day and I think everyone picked up on that, haha! Either that or they think I smell..
Cosmetics/Skincare Sets
I was utterly spoilt when it came to all these sets! I was lucky enough to get two Sephora limited edition lip sets, the 'Give Me Some Lip' set and the 'Give Me More Lip' set, these look AMAZING! Definitely two of my favourite gifts. I was also very lucky to receive a limited edition Tarte LipSurgence set which features some beautiful shades! I also got a Lancome skincare kit with some of the L'Absolu range, which I am so eager to try. Luke managed to get me a Mac limited edition kit that was available at the beginning of the year and he got it for a great price in Bicester Village! Lastly my Mum picked me up the Too Faced 'Poolside Primping' kit for half price! I could just look at these sets all day, I love them!
Here's the best bit - all the cosmetics I received! I got the Muji storage that I have been after for ages, thanks Mum and Dad! I was lucky enough to receive four lip crayon sets from Boots, the Fearne set, the Seventeen set, Soap and Glory and Ted Baker! My Mum managed to get me five different Dainty Doll lipsticks from Fragrance Direct for the bargain price of £1.99 each, they're all gorgeous.
I got a Mac foundation, a Mac lip conditioner and three lipsticks in the shades 'VIva Glam Nicki', 'Pink Pearl Pop' and 'Chatterbox'. I also got some Topshop makeup; three lipsticks and two highlighters. I got the Santa Lip Scrub from Lush, an Essie nail treatment, two nail varnishes, two lipbalms, a Smashbox eyebrow kit, a Lancome lip stain, a YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipstick, the Bobbi Brown eyeshadow palette 'Rich Chocolate', the Chanel Les Beiges powder and a Clinique Quickliner eyeliner.
I am ridiculously grateful to all my family, friends, Luke's family and Luke of course for all the wonderful presents that they got me. I was well and truly spoilt and I hope they all felt spoilt by me too!
I know this is a controversial post so I hope I haven't annoyed anyone and that everyone that has read this has enjoyed it :)
Thanks for reading!

Best Experience Ever: I Met My Hero!

Hey everyone,
Something you probably don’t know about me is that I love football and I’m a big Chelsea fan. Not exactly typical for a beauty blogger but I have always been a massive tomboy, I only properly got into makeup about four years ago! :)
Weekends at my house are and have always been all about football for me, my family and my Fiance. I’ve always loved Chelsea and all through my childhood it was rare to see me without a football kit on, there is no way you’d ever see me in anything pink and I don’t think I wore a dress until I was about 14.
Anyway, when Chelsea signed Frank Lampard I was about 8 and that was it, I was a child obsessed. Even my goldfish was named after him, the other was called Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the third was called Crespo, after another Chelsea player, I wasn’t a normal child I can assure you, haha. I had posters of him everywhere and he was just my hero. 12 years later and I’m still obsessed. He’s always been my favourite footballer because of how he performs on the pitch but he became my hero because he’s just such a nice guy and not to mention the fact he’s drop dead gorgeous! He’s so articulate and intelligent in his interviews and he actually has one of the highest IQs registered by a professional footballer.
Anyway, he recently brought out three books for children and I was on Facebook a few weeks ago and Chelsea posted that he was doing a book signing at the Chelsea Megastore. I phoned my Fiance straight away and told him he had to move his day off to Thursday so we could go and I was super excited. I definitely cried, haha. I am a massive cry baby but I have wanted to meet him for so long, I just couldn’t believe it was finally going to happen!
When the day finally came, me, my Fiance and Mum drove up to London really early and as we have the worst luck ever something had to go wrong. We were about five minutes away from the car space we rented and then all of a sudden Luke’s car started to play up, it smelt of fumes so badly and it just completely slowed down and we knew there was something badly wrong with it.
We made it to the car space but we were really starting to worry about getting home. It was about a 10 minute walk to the stadium and we got there just before the store opened at 9am. We went in and bought a book each and there was another book I wanted that was a huge book with pictures of all the goals he’s scored from when he started at Chelsea to when he beat the all time goal scoring record at Chelsea; 203 goals. We picked up two of these, one for me and one for my Dad, took them to the checkout and they said they didn’t know if he would sign them because he was only coming to sign his own books and it was completely up to him, so we spent £70 on two books and just crossed our fingers that he’d sign them :)
Then we went outside to join the queue and we were about 10th in a queue that was going to be capped at 200 people. He was due to arrive a 3:30pm so we had a long wait ahead of us! Thankfully it went so quickly, we met some incredible people and had such a laugh. The staff were so nice and friendly and put the top 15 of us in a separate section and gave us comfy chairs to sit on which was great! We could also go off as long as someone held our place, so me and Mum went off for a bit of an explore!
IMG_4394 IMG_4393
If I was a boy my name would have been ‘Osgood Coulton’ after Peter Osgood’, I’m not even joking! So glad I’m not a boy, haha.
Finally it got to 3pm and he arrived early and pulled up right in front of us and headed into the store to set up. About 10 minutes later I was heading into the store to do something I was more excited about than my wedding day, haha. It was something I never thought I’d do, he’s such a private man so he rarely does things like this.
Now, for the best bit, the pictures! I was so nervous, I was trying to smile for the pictures and my whole mouth was just shaking haha so definitely not my favourite pictures but oh well :)
IMG_4429 IMG_4424
He was so lovely and didn’t even hesitate when signing other items. He was so natural with people and spent loads of time with everyone, arriving early and staying late so he could spend plenty of time with everyone.
When we were asked to go over, we kind of just stood there then he said to Mum, ‘are you cold?’ and she said ‘yes, freezing!’, then he replied, ‘oh I’m really sorry for keeping you waiting!’ then Mum said to him at the end ‘thank you so much for doing this’ and he said ‘thank you so much for coming, I really appreciate it and its so lovely to meet you!’. He was just so polite and enthusiastic when speaking to you, he turned to face you and looked you dead in the eyes and it was so nerve wracking!
I went over when Mum was having her books signed and I went blank, I didn’t know what to say. In the end I said ‘can you make that out to Emily please?’ and he replied ‘of course I can!’. Then I said ‘please can we have a picture?’ and he said something like ‘yes definitely, of course you can, come over here!’ then we posed for pictures with me and my Mum on either side and then we thanked him and it was Luke’s turn :)
Luke ended up shaking his hand four times and just couldn’t stop touching him, haha. He asked for a picture and I said ‘sorry, can I get in this one please?’ and he said ‘yeah come on over this side’ and he was just so smiley and nice, so I took my opportunity and said ‘can I have a hug please!?’ and I don’t know where I got the guts to do that from, but I’m bloody glad I did! He said ‘oh of course you can!’ and he turned round on his chair and gave me a big bear hug and I was a big giggly smiley mess for the next…well I still am, haha!. Luke said to him 'oi, watch it Frank!' when he hugged me and he replied while laughing, 'sorry mate!'
We walked back to the car after saying goodbye to the new friends we made in the queue and then we realised the car was not fit to travel in. Luke decided he would try and get it home and me and Mum would get the bus/train. We ended up going on a lovely bus ride through central London and we got to see all the beautiful Christmas lights on Oxford Street, Winter Wonderland and so much more. It was such a great journey and we finally stumbled through the door at 7pm after leaving at 6:30am, we were knackered!
This was beautiful Harrods all lit up! and here was what we came home to:
Haha, it was definitely all a bit too much for poor Luke!
I had the best time ever and I want to do it all over again! It was so worth it and I still can’t believe I met my hero. Meeting him has been top on my bucket list since I was 8 years old, so to finally meet him was incredible. I know this is probably a boring post for most of you, but it was the best day ever for me and I wanted to write about it so I can look back on it in years to come :)
 Thanks for reading!
Have you ever met your hero before?

Day 24 – What I Got In My Beauty Advent Calendars (Ciate, Benefit, Boots and The Body Shop Beauty Advent Calendars)

Hey everyone,
Today is the last day of opening my beauty advent calendars and I have enjoyed opening them so much, I’m really sad its all over! But on the plus side it is Christmas Eve and I absolutely love Christmas :) For those that haven’t read any of these posts, this year I bought four beauty advent calendars, completely unintentionally, they just kept bringing new ones out and I couldn’t resist! I had to go on a spending ban for about a month so I could pay for them all but it was so worth it :)
beauty advent
These are the four that I picked and the only one I can say wasn’t worth the money is the Boots one, the products weren’t varied enough and there was five tiny perfume samples included which I really don’t like because you can pick them up for free in department stores. The others have all been amazing though! Here’s what I got behind today’s doors:(the pictures aren’t amazing because I had to take them at night time and I’ve just been so busy today, so sorry about that!)
Benefit's Dandelion Brightening Face Powder
The last product I received in my Benefit advent calendar was the Dandelion blusher, I have wanted to try this for so long and its the product I am most excited about using out of everything I've received in my Benefit calendar. This is supposed to be perfect for pale skin tones and I have wanted to try it ever since reading that, so hopefully this will work well with my ever so pale skin! It is a really pretty pale pink with a subtle shimmer. Full size retails at £23.50 for 7g and this sample has 3g worth of product, so a very generous size!
17 Blow Out Volume Sculpt Tease Mascara
In my Boots advent calendar I received this mascara from 17, that claims to give x12 volume! You can't really see but the tube is about double the size of a regular mascara. I have been reading reviews and it does sound really good and retails at only £6.29. I am so excited to try this out, I would have never picked this myself but it does look like a really good mascara :)
The Body Shop Shea Body Butter
In my Body Shop advent calendar I received a 50ml body butter from the Shea range. I don't generally like body butters, they take too long to soak in, but I haven't tried any from The Body Shop, so there's might be ok :) This retails at £5 for 50ml and it has such a nice scent, its sort of a nutty smell which I wouldn't usually be drawn to but it is lovely!
Ciate Paint Pot in 'Serendipity'
On the final day of opening my Ciate Mini Mani Month advent calendar I received a full size Paint Pot in the shade 'Serendipity', which retails at £9. When I saw this I was like 'oh my god, this is the perfect nail polish' and I went to use it straight away on my toes but it was so sheer with just a few pink specs of glitter transferring onto my nail on the first coat. I didn't have time to sit around and apply layers and layers of it, so I just used something else. I will try again when I am less busy though as it is simply stunning - a deep pinky purple that is just so shimmery and glittery! This is also limited edition and only available in the Ciate Mini Mani Month advent calendar. The Mini Mani Month advent calendar is now reduced to £33.50 on Asos! :)
So this is the end of this little series of posts and I've loved doing them and enjoyed receiving my little goodies every day leading up to Christmas so much! I hope you all have an amazing Christmas, I am looking forward to tomorrow so much, I just love spending time with my family more than anything :) Merry Christmas to all of you!

Day 23 – What I Got In My Beauty Advent Calendars (Ciate, Benefit, Boots and The Body Shop Beauty Advent Calendars)

Hey everyone,
So today was the penultimate day of opening my beauty advent calendars and I am so sad there is only one day to go! For those of you that haven’t been reading these posts, this year I ended up buying four beauty advent calendars! I went on a spending ban so I could afford them and I am so glad that I did because they’ve made the whole Christmas period so much more exciting :)
beauty advent
These are the four that I picked and the only one I can criticise is the Boots one, that has included a lot of perfume samples! Here’s what I got behind today’s doors:
Ciate Mini Paint Pot in 'Locket'
In my Ciate Mini Mani Month advent calendar I received this amazing shimmery silver polish called 'Locket'. I completely adore this, it is so shimmery and has loads of different sized chunks of glitter running through it. I will get so much use out of this pretty shade :)
Benefit's Cha Cha Tint
In my Benefit advent calendar I received this mini Cha Cha Tint. This is a mango tinted cheek and lip stain, that retails at £24.50 for 12.5ml, I would say this sample is about 3ml. This will look so lovely in the summer months, but I'm not sure I'll get much use out of it during the winter time! It does look very pretty though and I can't wait to see how it looks, especially on the cheeks :)
Umberto Giannini Glam Hair Backcomb in a Bottle
In my Boots advent calendar I received this 30ml travel sized version of Umberto Giannini's Backcomb in a Bottle. Full size retails at £5.61 for 200ml, so its not very expensive if I decide I like it! I am always looking for something to give my flat hair a boost, so this could be just the product! I have heard good reviews about this, so fingers crossed!
The Body Shop Shea Shower Cream
In my Body Shop advent calendar I received this 60ml travel sized version of the shower cream from the Shea range. I really like the Shea range, the scent is gorgeous, so I'm happy to add another product to my collection :) I'm really loving The Body Shop's shower gels at the moment, so this is definitely something I would have picked myself :) This retails at £4 for 250ml.
Overall, another really great day! Everything I would have selected myself so I am really impressed. Tomorrow is the last day of opening my advent calendars though!! :(

Day 22 – What I Got In My Beauty Advent Calendars (Ciate, Benefit, Boots and The Body Shop Beauty Advent Calendars)

Hey everyone,
Today was day 22 of opening my beauty advent calendars which means there are only two more doors to open! I’ve enjoyed opening these so much, I don’t want it to end! For those of you that haven’t read any of these posts, this year I ended up getting four beauty advent calendars. They were just such good value, I couldn’t resist going on a spending ban so I could buy them :)
beauty advent
Here’s the four that I picked and they’ve all been great, the only one I can criticise is the Boots one, it isn’t very varied, most of the products have been tiny perfume samples or nail varnishes/products. Here’s what I got behind today’s doors:
Nails Inc Porchester Square
In my Boots advent calendar I received this 4ml (10ml is full size and retails at £11) nail polish from Nails Inc called Porchester Square. I have seen this before and it is such a beautiful shade. Its a mushroomy colour and I absolutely love it, I have nothing like it and its so, so pretty. Really happy to get this :)
The Body Shop Shea Lip Butter
In my Body Shop advent calendar I received this lip butter from the Shea range. I have never tried a lip butter before but I really like the sound of it and The Body Shop Shea scent is so nice, so can't wait to try it out! This is full size and usually retails at £4. It contains 10ml of product so should last a long time :)
Benefit Star Bracelet
In my Benefit advent calendar I received this 'bracelet', its actually just a piece of gold string with a plastic golden star attached to it. I will never use this and it'll definitely just be going straight into the bin. I suppose they just included this to bulk it out, but it really is so cheap looking and probably cost about 5p to make, haha.
Ciate Christmas Tree Mini Caviar Pearls
In my Ciate Mini Mani Month advent calendar I recieved this amazing festive inspired nail caviar called 'Christmas Tree'. Featuring dark greens, deep reds and a hint of silver, this is perfect for the whole Christmas period. I haven't ever tried a caviar mani before but the colours are so perfect for Christmas, I'm definitely going to have to give it a go!
Some really great items today, well everything except the 'bracelet', haha! Looking forward to tomorrow, the penultimate doors! :)
